of Labor Bureau of apprenticeship and Training.

the ranks. Most are in supervisory positions in their craft and are dedicated
to passing their knowledge on. Instructors are board approved, recommended
by the trade advisory committees and required to have trade experience.
Why Apprentice Training?
If we, as contractors are to maintain our position in the construction
industry, we must not only train our current work force, but plan to develop
the next generation of skilled craftpersons. By enrolling our employees
in the RVCTC apprenticeship programs, we will be insuring the growth of
quality construction.
Qualified, well-trained individuals are one of a company's most important
assets. A well-trained work force is more productive, efficient and safe.
These qualities are necessary requirements for a form to be profitable
in today's competitive market. This program is for the benefit of the
public and the construction industry. The RVCTC will assist in finding
employment for those students needing it, however job placement cannot
be guaranteed.
Employer Information
Every employer participating for the first time in apprenticeship training
must complete a "Participating Employer Agreement" form. Employers
should also complete the bottom half of the Apprentice Application" form.
A coordinator assigned to work with the RVCTC program, or the Manager of
Education Services for RVCTC will meet with each employer and explain
the policies and procedures of the RVCTC apprenticeship program. Through
close contact with employers, RVCTC is able to determine the training
needs of the companies involved.
Location
All apprenticeship classes are evening classes held in the Knox County
School's Lincoln Park Technology and Trade Center, at 535 Chickamauga
Center. RVCTC has designated space specifically for apprentice
programs, providing both classrooms and labs for each individual trade.
The labs are well equipped with tools, supplies and materials so apprentices
can receive not only theory training, but valuable "hands on"
experiences to enhance their training. Class attendances is required to
remain in the program.
